El Refugio neighbourhood

A little further on, between Calle Alfredo L. Jones and Calle Gran Canaria, in the last century, was the Refugio neighbourhood, which was born in the shelter of the first works that made the current superport of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria possible at the beginning of the 19th century. This neighbourhood disappeared with the transformation of the area due to the boom in tourism in the middle of the 20th century.
